Question for my Dad:
What happened to harvesting energy from waves? I thought there was some development of technology to harvest energy from waves ... Was it not successful?
There are a few startup companies in maine trying to "develop" energy from tidal and wind turbines offshore,below and above waterline, respectively. transmission of the energy and traffic hazards to navigation, and seaweed clogs are ongoing issues to be resolved. Some interesting R&D, esp. for Maine. Not sure of any wave generation though. Anchoring systems are similar to oil rigs I believe.
